As we were living in Paris back in 2003, my BFF Vanessa and I, were worried about the critical situation our homeland Caracas was living. Back then Chavez was commanding the country. We decided to go back to Venezuela and shoot a documentary.

We were super lucky to find our French producer Alain Guesnier who supported us right away and in Caracas we got the support of Javier who is Vanessa’s dad and our Venezuelan producer.

We landed in Caracas in February 2003.

WELCOME TO MY HOME.

In my house we find my 28-year-old cousin, Gabby, who is anti-Chavez, living with my mostly pro-Chavez family.

There are constant arguments which reflect the divisions in modern-day Venezuela. Each member of the family is affected by the crisis.

n every bedroom, the television is always on, tuned into a channel of the same political leanings as its occupant.

Contradictory around-the-clock news invades the house and feeds the arguments.

Every aspect of daily life becomes political and a source of division until the day Gabby announces she is pregnant.

Can the upcoming birth of this child pacify and bring this torn family together again?

As introduction to our documentary we decided to add an animation.

My grand-mother América who is an Historian help us write it and Pierre our friend from high school draw it.

Oh yeah, that’s our beginning, that’s where we met at the Colegio Francia - the French school in Caracas.

We all are a big family.
